Aurangabad, the Head Quarters of the District and also the Marathwada Division, is situated on the Kham River in the latitude 190-53’59” North and longitude 750-20'' East. The city stands in Dundhna Valley between the Lakenvara range on the north and the satara hills on the south.

The co-ordinates for Aurangabad are N 19° 53' 47" - E 75° 23' 54". The city is surrounded by hills on all directions. Climate Classification: Aurangabad features a semiarid climate under the Koppen climate classification. Temperature: Annual temperatures in Aurangabad range from 9 to 40°C, with the most comfortable time to visit in the winter - October to February.
